As I transition out of the leadership role, I cannot help but reflect on some of the signature fundraising events the Assyrian Aid Society of America has established such as Narsai’s Taste of the Mediterranean, the Ashurnasirpal Dinner Gala at the University of Chicago’s Oriental Institute and last, but certainly not least, Mesopotamian Night.

I would like to congratulate Tony Khoshaba and the entire Mesopotamian Night 2019 team for an absolutely wonderful evening of Assyrian art and culture. Not only, in my opinion, was this the best Mesopotamian Night event yet but it was also the most successful in fundraising. Fundraising from this event is crucial for the many educational and humanitarian programs the Assyrian Aid Society of America sponsors and supports which are administered by our sister organization, the Assyrian Aid Society – Iraq.

This high caliber production requires hundreds of hours and many months of hard work by exceptionally talented artists, musicians and performers and an incredible team of dedicated volunteers who selflessly give their precious time to a noble cause: helping their brothers and sisters in our ancestral homeland of Assyria.

Year after year I am amazed by the continued enhancement and sophistication of the productions. The high standards the productions have achieved are truly remarkable. It gives me a great deal of pride to claim this wonderful event as a major fundraising project of the Assyrian Aid Society of America.

I wish the Mesopotamian Night team continued success and look forward to joining our devoted supporters in future high-quality productions of Assyrian art and culture.

Thank you, Tony Khoshaba! Thank you, Mesopotamian Night team! I am humbled by all your exceptional dedication and talent.
