The Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq (AAS-Iraq) has been chosen by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to implement a $205,352 education project benefiting more than 23,212 primary school and kindergarten students in 85 schools in the villages and towns of Al Hamdaniya District in the Nineveh Plain.

The two-week project, scheduled to begin on November 25, 2018 as the new academic year commences, will include a week of distributing critically needed school supplies and a week of structured classroom outreach activities.

This project, originally researched, proposed, and submitted by AAS-Iraq, is funded by the USAID’s Iraq Community Resilience Initiative, established to create sustained community stabilization in north Iraq.
