About the Microloan Project
The Assyrian Aid Society of America and in partnership with sister organization Assyrian Aid Society-Iraq is thrilled to introduce a pioneering initiative that aims to uplift individuals and support them in establishing their own small businesses, ultimately paving their way out of adversity.
Through our Assyrian Small Business Fund (or Microloan) project, we are determined to break the cycle of hardship and create a pathway of financial independence and prosperity for aspiring entrepreneurs like never before.
This project operates on a simple yet powerful concept — we extend microloans to individuals, helping them kickstart their own businesses and chart a course towards self-sufficiency. However, what sets our program apart is our emphasis on community support and collaboration.

About the Microloan Project
Each loan recipient receives a loan of which 25% is a forgivable loan and the recipient repays 75% of their original loan amount in 27 months.
We are delighted to report that our Microloan project has already funded 12 new business, and we are proud to share an impressive repayment rate so far.
This success can be attributed to the concerted efforts of our dedicated loan recipients, who are fully committed to repaying their loans and building a brighter future.
In some cases, this initiative encourages individuals to stay in their homeland and utilize their entrepreneurial skills to boost the agriculture industry.
By providing the necessary financial support and training, we aim to contribute to the growth and sustainability of local economies, thereby reducing the need to migrate to other areas.
Beyond the financial assistance we provide, our program fosters a sense of connection and solidarity among loan recipients.
By encouraging regular meetings and group repayments, a robust network of individuals emerges, supporting and inspiring one another on their journey to success.
This network not only amplifies their collective potential but also fuels a vibrant community of engaged Assyrians working hand in hand to build capacity and enhance access to resources and opportunities.
