Assyrian Small Business Fund Overview
Assyrian Small Business Fund objective is to empower Assyrian owned businesses by:
- Helping grow their businesses
- Improving family livelihoods
- Strengthening the local economy
- Supporting the Assyrian community to remain and build in our Homeland
How This Project Works
1. Assyrian entrepreneurs contact AAS-IRAQ to request funding for a project.
2. AAS-IRAQ ranks the projects using a scoring system (current financial situation, number of beneficiaries or how many people are benefiting from the income, etc)
3. 20% of the loan is a grant (gift for the business), 80% is a loan to be repaid over 27 months.
4. AAS-IRAQ conducts field visits to assess the business after it’s opened and collect the monthly loan.
5. Already funded businesses include beehives, sheep breeding, a fish pond, an interior design shop, a floral shop, an agricultural machine, and others.
