Ishtar’s Circle and AAS Helping Assyrian Businesswoman in Baghdida

Ishtar’s Circle, a Chicago based Assyrian Women’s organization, is proud to partner with the Assyrian Aid Society in its effort to help Assyrian women in the Homeland.

Wafaa Sliwa Raffo is one such woman, looking to open her own bakery in Baghdida, Nineveh Plains, Iraq. Our goal is to raise $3300 to make her hope a reality.

Wafaa and her family are from Baghdida. The family fled ISIS and landed in Jordan. After some years they decided to return to Baghdida. Through the Assyrian Aid Society, Wafaa was able to participate in a vocational training program through which she learned to operate a bakery business with specialty cakes and sweets.

Despite having an amazing talent for the trade and a high demand for her cakes, Wafaa is not able to operate her business from her home. She needs a shop so that the income her business would generate will support her family of eight.

Please consider donating to this cause so that we may help not only Wafaa and her family but the entire Assyrian community of Baghdida by providing them with access to Wafaa’s amazing cakes and creations—and inspiring other Assyrian women! Your donation can make the biggest difference to Wafaa and the Assyrians of Baghdida. This small business has the potential to bring so much joy to the people of this community.

Thank you kindly in advance for your donation! Tawdi!
