More than 2613 students in the academic year 2019-2020 have received school supplies.

AAS - Iraq also supports 89 teachers employed at the Assyrian schools in Dohuk and Erbil to include covering the cost of their monthly salaries, as well as their transportation and other administrative expenditures.

The project targeted 45 – 50 Assyrian Youth, and included providing of
series of lectures and seminars that dealt with several issues related to Assyrians as Indigenous People.

It included livelihood and educational training programs that targeted women and youth groups of different communities in the Hamdaniya district.

Training program included:

• A course on baking cookies and sweets which benefited 45 women
• A course for making pickles which benefited 15 males
• A carpentry course which benefited 10 males

Event was held on March 2nd, 2019 and managed by Mr. Ashur Sargon Eskarya, President of AAS - Iraq, with the participation of the following individuals:

• Dr. Nicholas Al-Jeloo, Professor at Kadir Has University in Turkey

The discussions included presenting of many axes, including the stages of the development of the Syriac language and the means available to preserve and revive it as a precious cultural heritage which we inherited as one of the indigenous peoples.

Many ideas were proposed to preserve it as the language of the indigenous people of the region for centuries, as well as the extent of its importance for our people. Discussion also included technological means to preserve the Syriac language in eastern and western branches.
