The Assyrian Aid Society of America (AAS-A) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it.

Types of Data Collected

In receiving donations via check or credit card, in processing requests for the Tree of Life newsletter, or in fulfilling a purchase order, AAS-A receives some or all of the following information from the donor or individual:

• Name
• Postal address
• Banking account number
• Credit card number
• Telephone number
• Email address

We recognize that the personal information you provide to us is held in a position of trust. AAS-A does not sell, rent, or lease its mailing list or any personal information from our donors.

Opting-Out

AAS-A gives all donors the choice to opt-out of being publicly disclosed as contributors to AAS-A. If a donor does not wish to be identified in the Tree of Life newsletter, on www.assyrianaid.org, or in any promotional materials, he or she can make his or her preference known by simply checking a box on all AAS-A donation forms. In addition, at any time a donor can contact the AAS-A national office or his local chapter and verbally change his or her opt-out status.

Occassionally AAS-A makes donation appeals via the United States Postal Service. If an individual receives such a solicitation but the solicitation is unwanted, information is provided so that the recipient can contact AAS-A and have his or her name removed from the mailing list.

All of our email communications to individuals carry a feature allowing the recipent to Unsubscribe from the mailing list and cease receiving emails from AAS-A.

The Internet

The official AAS-A website, www.assyrianaid.org, does not employ cookies or in any way maliciously collect personal information from its visitors. The site statistics gathered by the AAS-A web host (for example, user IP addresses) is used to help diagnose problems with its servers and to administer our Web site. Broad, non-personal demographic information from this data helps improve our site and make your browsing experience more enjoyable.
